The Caregiver's Corner
ABOUT ME
My name is Mellissa Renes and I have been working in the field of early childhood education for over 25 years. I currently serve as the Director at Sammamish Children’s School. My passion for this field has inspired me not only to work with children but to help nurture and inspire parents, caregivers, and other colleagues to promote the advancement of this profession. I recognize that a quality educational experience is a shared responsibility between the parents, school, and surrounding community.
Since early 2020, our nation has been transformed by the events of the Covid-19 pandemic. Children across the world have been impacted by this health crisis in ways we never before imagined. Isolation from friends and family, loss of loved ones, parents losing jobs, and increased stress and anxiety are a few ways children across the nation have been traumatized.
This website should serve as a toolkit as we work together to guide and support children through facing any traumatic experience. The road to creating a sense of safety and security may be long for some of us and I wish you all the best in your search to improve the good of the communities you are serving
